Right now the cards are in the air as far as time tables for a 2nd Closed Beta or a Open Beta due to SmileGate's development time.

The upcoming updates for potions, pk penalties and anything else will be tested in-house first by Aeria but pending their approval will be added to the official server for whenever that gets opened up again.

While the decision is of course up to Aeria, I'm personally for opening up a 2nd closed beta as soon as the potions and penalties get tested. Keep it running until the islands/turfs can be incorporated and tested and start Open Beta once the islands have passed the test.

Additionally, you will not have to download a new client, as everything can be updated without downloading an entirely new client.

The idea of a 2nd Closed Beta has been passed around. I'm not the one who will open it myself, it will be Aeria who has the final say but the idea has been discussed and is still on the table.
